Are you lusting after luscious curls? Does your hair seem to have a mind of its own?
Taming unruly curls can sometimes feel like a full-time job, but these 5 easy tips will keep frizz at bay and leave your curls full of life.
When it comes to curls, a standard hairbrush just isn't going to cut it. Pick up a wide-tooth comb to gently detangle knots - they come with various teeth lengths to suit all volumes of hair.
We recommend gently detangling your dry curls
before you wash your hair to avoid split ends and breaking fragile locks.
It's also a good idea to gently detangle again after applying your go-to curl product whilst in the shower, as this helps to distribute the product evenly whilst maintaining curl definition.
Are your curls feeling dry and prone to breakage? Try applying a deep conditioner to dry hair before you jump in the shower.
This ensures your conditioner is able to fully soak into your curls, without competing for space with water.
We recommend applying a generous amount of deep conditioner to your hair around 20 minutes before you shower, twisting your locks up and sticking on a shower cap.
Doing this regularly will leave your curls hydrated and full of life.
For curly hair, diffusers are a life-saver. This hairdryer attachment helps to disperse the hot air, reducing frizz and retaining the natural curl pattern of your hair. A diffuser is the perfect accompaniment to your hair care routine, whether you have a gentle wave or corkscrew curls.
We recommend spritzing your hair with a heat protectant before beginning and working upwards from the ends of your hair to your roots. Try flipping your head upside down to add more volume to your look.
Brushing your hair from the roots downwards is a fast-track to split ends and breakages. This simply pushes tangles further down to gather at the ends of your hair.
Instead, brush from the bottom of your hair and work your way upwards with a wide-tooth comb.
When drying hair with a regular towel, the grooves of the fabric can aggravate curly hair, leaving locks frizzy and curls undefined. For definition and volume, put your hair into a t-shirt and wrap up on top of your head.
Don't twist your curls upwards as this ruins the pattern of your curls. Instead, gently gather your hair at the top of your head. We recommend leaving hair for 10-15 minutes before undoing and styling as usual.
